A high quality and properly trained Montessori teacher comprehends the significance of facilitating natural development in children. Montessori teachers are referred to as ‘director/directress’ as they see their educational role as leading a child through a journey of self-discovery rather than merely delivering a static and didactic curriculum. The Montessori director/directress is not only adept in Montessori theory and philosophy but also skilled in the accurate and appropriate use of Montessori materials. They possess keen observational skills, enabling them to effectively guide students and foster growth and development in children.
The director/directress observes children within a specific age range and prepares an environment for children. They introduce them to developmentally appropriate lessons and materials based on observations of each child’s unique interests, abilities, and social, emotional, cognitive abilities.
Our director/directresses in our Montessori program hold global certification from accredited organizations such as American Montessori Society (AMS) and Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). They bring their extensive experience in the field of Montessori education.
